ONOMO Hotel Dakar
Nestling within its mud-brick wall around two landscaped patios, ONOMO Hotel Dakar has introduced a unique concept. Steeped in African spirit but open to the world and the ‘here and now’, the ONOMO Hotel Dakar - part of the ONOMO Hotels Group - shows that offering simple and accessible hotels to new regional and international clients is possible. Business and corporate clients can now appreciate all the services of a top hotel, at an affordable price.
The hotel lobby is conceived as an urban African village that allows for different living spaces including the main restaurant and its designed walls, the bar, the business corner with free computer access, the lounge area, the gym and access to the rooms.
The rooms are particularly well lit and full of sophisticated comforts. They offer free Wi-Fi access, a queen-size bed, a workspace, a flat-screen TV with Satellite channels, a walk-in shower, separate toilets, an electronic safe adapted to laptops, an individual a/c system, a shady balcony and a wide window on to the outdoor gardens.
The bar-restaurant is open 24/7 to cater to guests night and day. The food is tasty and the portions generous. African and international flavours inspire the Chef who mostly sources fresh produces from local markets and the hotel garden.
The hotel is also equipped with 2 meeting rooms with free Wi-Fi access. The fully-equipped plenary room with a screen wall can accommodate up to 120 attendees and offer natural daylight and an outdoor terrace and patio.
The ONOMO Hotel Dakar provides also a shuttle (with additional cost and upon request) - also equipped with free Wi-Fi access - to take guests to and from the international Blaise Diagne de Dakar airport
Security is the priority of ONOMO Hotels. Its innovative approach, under the concept 'Priority Security', is the result of an in-depth collaboration with security and risk experts. Guards, technology and other resources guarantee peace and comfort during your stay.
This concept, created by ONOMO Hotels, is a driving mission for the chain. We want to integrate the best of the creativity and talent of African craftsmen within the very walls of our hotels. By putting local resources first, ONOMO Hotels wants to drive regional economic development. Africa’s Finest focuses on environmentally-friendly projects and social responsibility.
The Hotel is one of the greatest mud-brick structures in West Africa and also part of the RSE Sénégal initiative.
The hotel has been constructed to optimise the environmental benefits: heating water with solar energy, low energy lighting, treating and recycling water without chemicals to water the organic vegetable allotment.
ONOMO VISUAL ART
Hotels at the heart of Africa, Africa at the heart of our hotels.
Through the Culture programme ONOMO Visual Art, ONOMO Hotels give a voice to contemporary African artists - photographers and filmmakers - and develops partnerships with important players in the cultural life of the continent.
ONOMO Hotel Dakar is now seen as a vital cultural meeting point in the Senegalese capital: ‘ONOMOllywood’ is a look at Hollywood classics revisited by Antoine Tempé and Omar Victor Diop; ‘Contes et Légendes’ (Myths and Fairytales) is a series of photographs born from the encounter between a stylist and photographer, Bull Doff and Fabrice Monteiro; ‘La jungle urbaine de Dakar’ (Dakar’s urban jungle) is a fresco by François Sanz that is permanently on show in the restaurant; ‘Métamorphoses’ is an exhibition by Abdoulaye Ndao (Layepro), who works with charcoal, where he looks at the deforestation caused by the daily use of charcoal by the Senegalese population; ‘Femme Photographe’ is an exhibition of work by Joana Choumali (Ivory Coast), Fatoumata Diabaté (Mali), Delphine Diallo (France & Senegal), Leila Alaoui (Morocco) and Lebohang Kganye (South Africa); as well as ‘Light and Soul’ an exhibition of the work of the Mauritanian photographer Malika Diagana.
The exhibitions were very successful outside of Senegal, demonstrating the drive behind the ONOMO Visual Art concept to participate in the promotion of contemporary African visual creativity.
